The Amazing Rohrbacks!
Just an example of some of our Sunday afternoon activities! I hope we can have this much fun with our kids when they are older... : ) We love you guys!
Finally! Some real food...
McKinley's first experience with cereal was awesome! She took her first bit, wasn't quite sure about it at first (see the second picture) and then ate the whole bowl. In fact, at one point we clearly were not shoveling it in fast enough! She would fuss between bites. I'm hoping she continues to like to eat when I introduce vegetables! Ha! : )
McKinley is 6 months!
I can't believe our daughter is already six months old! I'm sure I sound like a broken record, but man... this is going soooo fast!
What are you up to these days?
You weigh 14 lbs 5 oz
You are 25 3/4 inches tall
You are in a size 3 diaper
You are rolling over regularly, although only in your crib
You can sit with assistance and you are starting to put weight on your legs
You have found your toes and love to put them in your mouth
You have figured out how to throw things
You can take out and replace your pluggie on your own now
You whisper to yourself a lot like your great grandma Hayes
You laugh and smile a lot
You are fighting your first cold
You have your first tooth : )
You are interested in the sippy cup, but don't like what comes out
You love your bath, but get really anxious to eat when you are done
You are usually good at sleeping, but we've digressed a bit since the cold/teething
You are a trooper with most unpleasant things and really take them in stride. You took your four shots at the doctor like a champ, you aren't overly fussy with your cold, except you really don't like it when mommy wipes your nose!
I love you daughter. You are such a blessing in our lives.
Christmas Time
We had a wonderful Christmas this year, which more than made up for last years catastrophe. : ) My folks were here for about 10 days and had a ton of fun with McKinley during her first Christmas! We had our usual crab leg and prime rib dinner on Christmas eve... and as usual had way too much food. It was delicious though! Christmas morning went in stages. We opened stockings, then McKinley napped, we opened gifts, then McKinley napped, we went to Grandma and Papa's house(The Hamms), then McKinley napped, and then it started all over again! It was a busy day for McKinley and I think she slept the entire next day!
Back among the living... sort of
Hello! You may have noticed our absence (although, probably not) over the last several weeks. I won't bore anyone with the gruesome details, but let's just say that I was sick, now McKinley is sick (really this time) and I think Jeff is on his way to being sick. I think January is going to be a rough month for us. Your prayers are appreciated! I'm still working on the video blog, but will let you know when it is ready. In the meantime I'll post some of the pictures from the holidays and get everyone caught up on the fun events of the last few weeks. Thanks for checking on us!

How long has it been?
I've planned on blogging several times over the last "few days"... and then I realized tonight that a "few days" has really been a month! I guess with
Christmas and visitors and New Years, time just got away from me. This past week, I've been fighting a cold and McKinley has gone through "constant attention" detox, on top of what I think might be teething. So needless to say, we didn't get much done. I have some pics to post of Nana and Papa Norm's visit, and of McKinley's first Christmas. Santa brought us a new video camera, and I have lots of cute things to post. I will probably set up a separate, private blog for videos. If you are interested in seeing that, post a comment and I'll email you the link and add you to the guest list.
We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a Happy, Happy New Year. May God bless you in 2010 with health, happiness and love.
Love,
Melissa
